GeekBench 3 Battery Test:

I did a geekbench 3 battery test but to be honest, I don't trust this test anymore, that is why I didn't mention it. MiUi 7 seems to be a lot more energy efficent than MiUi 6 but it won't show in THIS benchmark http://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/102082

Update: Second test, this time with "dim screen" OFF and a screen brightness of 50%:

Edit: Slow-Motion video recording IS working but only up to an HD resolution. MY BAD!! Sorry for that!

  2. Hey, great review for the Redmi Note 2! It's really hard to find an english review for this phone. I checked all your pictures taken with the Note 2 and they look very satisfying. Can you please make more pictures in low light environment and record a video in full hd mode?

  3. Thanks for the review, very extensive. I have a question regarding the dual SIMs. In your video we see that one SIM is quad band but we dont see what the other SIM is capable of. Many dual sim phones only have 2G on one SIM and the 3G/4G is only on the other SIM. As I travel a fair bit I am looking for a Dual SIM phone that has 3G/4G capabilities on both SIMs. It does not need to be simultaneous (ie Dual SIM active) Dual Sim Standby is fine, but having to swap the SIMs from one slot to another every time I leave my home country is a pain I would like to avoid. So in short, is each SIM slot 3G/4G capable? Many Thanks m.

    1. Hi :-) Like "always", both sim slots can be used for 2G/3G/4G but only ONE at a time! If sim slot one is set to 3G/4G, sim slot two is 2G ONLY. If you switch slot two to 3G/4G, slot one will be 2G only. So, you won't have to swap simcards but one ONE slot will have 3G/4G capability while the other slot will be 2G only.

    3. If you are using the phone for a 4g hot spot will you still receive texts from both Sims? Phone calls?

    1. Hi :-) The firmware I have on my phone RIGHT NOW only supports English and Chinese. I have founds a multilanguage firmware for this phone, yet. It's still too new for custom firmwares, I guess.

  14. Hi, thank you for your review.
When you say the phone has only 2 languages, I assume that the menus and things can be set to only one of this 2 languages. But can we type or display other languages such as for phone book directory (name, address... etc.)?
    TIA

    1. Hi :-)

Yes, only the system languages are Chinese and English RIGHT NOW(!!!) and on the firmware I have on the phone. I am certain it's only a question of time before international / multi-language firmwares are available.

  17. Hi Colonel Zap,

    Thanks for you review!

I am using Telekom in Germany, could you comment on 4G LTE reception?

I see it supports FDD-LTE B1/B3/B7 and according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Europe Telekom has a B3/B7/B20 network.

Is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 useable without support for LTE B20 in daily life?
