  2. Do you know what frequencies this phone supports for 3G/WCDMA. I really like how in some reviews you go into engineering mode to display the freq bands but I did not see that in this review. Thanks.

  3. hey,
is there a way to disable that ridiculous iPhone style launcher for gppd? and go with only let's say: Nova launcher or SPB or GO Launcher EX ?? I'm really starting to hate the iPhone UI. any thoughts?

    1. ...i ment to say: "is there a way to disable that ridiculous iPhone style launcher for good?" :) sorry for the typo

      Delete
    2. Of course you could, if your phone is rooted, you could delete the stock launcher but I wouldn't recommend it! If you have an alternative launcher installed (Novo or whatever) and if that one ever crashes for good, you'll have a phone without ANY launcher :-(

So, I never delete stock launchers, I only install additional launchers :-)

    3. thank you very much for your answer ColonelZap :), so i guess i am stuck with this one :(
by the way, which one of the galaxy s3 clones from Fastcardtech would you recommend by the way that you have an experience with?
i mean, they have so many from so many manufacturers.
are they buggy? laggy? what your opinion?

      Delete
    4. Good question, I am just as confused as you are :-(

I liked the HDC Galaxy Note 2 Ex (aka Hero H9500+) the best but is that a S3 clone? You decide ;-)

So far I never had a problem with them. Are you tracking in the right place? They always give out shipper's reference tracking numbers that can't be tracked on the "normal" DHL tracking.

      Delete
    2. well i did get one tracking number and i read the dhl instructions on the homepage but it always comes up empty...ive used the http://www.cn.dhl.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html with my tracking number 7551942226 ,,,,
      could i have missed something?

      thanks for the fast reply!!

  9. Hi, Can i just ask what the N2 stands for? Is this a different model to the goophone i5?

    1. No idea why "N2", every shop makes up their own names.

  10. Cool, Thanks for that Zap. Just wanted to make sure i bought the right phone from androidforcheap.com Its advertised as a Goophone I5 4.0 inch Oneglass Screen MTK6577 Dual Core, So hopefully when it turns up its actually a genuine Goophone.

    1. Just make sure it also has the 960x540 pixel resolution.

  11. Sorry Zap, Just another question, Is there really any difference between the Goophone i5 MTK6577 and Zophone i5 MTK6577. I see that you can get the latest Zophone i5 with Nano sim. Could you run modded roms from Goophone on the Zophone? The real question is, which phone is the best out of the 2?

    Thank you

    1. Hi :-) I'm sorry but I am not familar with the Zophone i5, so I can't tell you which phone might be better. I doubt the firmwares will be compatible, though.

  12. Ok Colonelzap, Im going to be a pain in the ass again lol, But i received my Goophone i5 the other day, And so far so good! Its an original Goophone i5 with the 2 sensors on the front, 960x540 resolution screen. My question is, When i have my original iPhone 5 side by side with the Goophone i5 and have the brightness on both phones to the maximum, the Goophone is half the brightness of the iPhone. Is this normal? If i set the brightness on the iPhone 5 to half, Thats as bright as the goophone i5 goes. Is my goophone faulty, or is this normal for Goophone.

    Thank-you

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's odd?!? I never noticed or heard of anybody saying that the brightness is low on this phone. My goophone is at least as bright as my iPod Touch.

      Delete
    2. Hmmm.. there might be a problem with it id say, Its at least half the brightness of my iphone 5 when the brightness is on maximum. I really need to compare it with another goophone i guess.

Was heißt eine Firmware flashen ?

      Delete

      http://colonelzap.blogspot.de/2013/01/goophone-i5-n2-play-store-fix-tutorial.html

Aber wie gesagt, es gibt auch Alternativen:

      http://chinamobiles.org/showthread.php?30848-Alternativen-zum-Android-Market

      Delete
